CLIL – Content & Language Integrated Learning

Basically anyone who teaches a subject matter in a foreign language can be interested in the CLIL course. Therefore, it could be useful for teachers who work in Bilingual schools or even academic English teachers.

This CLIL Course is a two-week course. In fact, it consists of 20 contact lessons per week. Additionally, it includes an extensive cultural and social programme. The social programme will certainly allow you to enjoy Dublin city while you study. Above all, there is a distinct focus on exploring CLIL principles and techniques in the classroom. However, the course also addresses the English language improvement and awareness.
Above all, we have developed this course for practising teachers who wish to update. However, it is equally important for teachers who are new to CLIL. What’s more, the teachers will get the opportunity to update their knowledge of contemporary English. Furthermore, the course explores and promotes awareness of the different principles and techniques that are involved in a CLIL syllabus. Finally, it also gives a deeper insight into how to further exploit your subject materials.

First of all, the input sessions are a blend of theory and practice based on the CLIL. Secondly, we will use a mix of presentation and demonstration of practical teaching activities. It will certainly include both in-house developed and exploited materials. Furthermore, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own CLIL practices. Next, they will be asked to integrate the new or refreshed techniques and ideas into their classes. What’s more, they will also take part in afternoon activities. For one thing, the activities aim to specifically develop their language skills in a more informal environment outside the classroom. Hence, they will have a chance to further enhance their knowledge of Ireland.
