The first of its kind in the Philippines, Performance Lab offers dynamic and multidisciplinary masterclasses (For both beginners and experienced actors; Aged 14 and above). Don’t miss the chance to collaborate with directors in adapting some
of best scenes in the history of film and theatre.
A good performance is not a mere ingredient to a narrative. Rather it is the synthesis of effective collaboration, experimentation and different story elements. The Performance Lab is an undertaking where the actors can explore the craft and develop their own distinctive approach. We believe that different forms and elements of storytelling is instrumental in this development. Film and Theatre acting will be complemented by Dance Theatre, Spoken Word Poetry, Improv Theatre, and Storytelling fundamentals. Without being restricted to one technique/method, the participants will get to incorporate the different storytelling processes into the development of their own technique. Every participant will work with the directors to bring some of the best written film and theatre pieces to life. This masterclass allows the integration of different disciplines to help shape the participant’s unique approach, and to open them to the infinite possibilities of storytelling.

Toff De Venecia - Toff is a Broadway World-nominated director who has worked on acclaimed productions by the Ateneo Blue Repertory, as well as groundbreaking pieces by his own company, The Sandbox Collective. He serves on the board
of 9 Works Theatrical and is an editor and columnist for "Philippine Star".
Sari Estrada - Sari is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Film Institute. Her film "Asan si Lolo Mê?" was nominated in the Short Film category of the 37th Gawad Urian Awards, and won Best Short Feature in the 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Sari, also a theater actress, performed in productions by Teatro Baguntao, Teatro/Kolektibo, and Dulaang UP.
Yan Yuzon, a regular acting coach for GMA dramas, performed extensively for various productions, and continues to tell stories through films & other creative endeavours. Yan was also a member of the acclaimed band, Pupil, and now plays music with Archipelago.
Jam Pascual, a Creative Writing graduate, is a regular columnist for "Philippine Star". His works have been published by various publications including "Heights", Ateneo's official literary publication. He has been making a name in Spoken Word Poetry . Jam also takes his poetry to musical heights as a member of the band, Imelda.
Kenneth Keng - As a core member of Silly People's Improv Theater (SPIT), Kenneth has been a part of hundreds of improv theater performances. He has also appeared on stage for plays and musicals, including ones produced by the Ateneo Blue Repertory.
Cess Dalmas made her first full-length film before graduating from Ateneo, and screened it at selected institutions. Having studied at Mowelfund Film Institute, she made small-scale films and ads, some of which earned her awards. Like most of the other mentors, she explored drama through the collab between UK's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and PETA.

The first of its kind in the country, Performance Lab offers truly holistic programs and employ the disciplines that reinforce storytelling and the study of human nature. A craft is not merely a means of self-expression, but it is primarily a form of human exploration.
Performance Lab integrates each masterclass/program with complementary disciplines and forms of storytelling. For instance, an Acting Masterclass will mostly consist of the core acting exercises, but may also be facilitated along with dance theatre, improv theatre, spoken word poetry and scriptwriting. A Dance Masterclass may be complemented with musical theatre, yoga, and improvisation, while a Photography Masterclass may include a session or two about expressionist paintings, and visual aesthetics. Each discipline is instrumental in the development of every artist’s own distinctive approach.
Long-term Masterclasses are facilitated along with humanities subjects that help in the development of the artist’s perspective. These may include discussions on philosophical, theological and historical themes of literary texts, paintings, films and plays. ...
